About Fynix
What is Fynix?
Accounting software for small businesses in Canada. It keeps invoices, bills, bank lines, receipts, payroll and GST/HST in one double-entry ledger. AI reads paperwork and drafts entries, and a person confirms each one.
Can I use it today?
Not yet. Fynix is in development, with a launch target of 2027. Email us about early access and we will reply.
Who is it for?
Owners of small Canadian businesses who keep their own books, the in-house bookkeepers who help them, and accounting firms that keep books for many clients.
Does it replace my accountant?
No. Fynix is software, not an accounting firm, and it does not give accounting, tax or legal advice. It keeps the books organized and drafts returns, so your accountant spends time on judgement instead of typing.
Is it a web app or something I install?
The first release runs in your web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. An app you install on your computer is planned after launch.
AI and automation
Will the AI post entries on its own?
No. The AI writes drafts only. Every entry is posted by a person tapping Confirm, and your name and the time are saved with it. This applies at every amount and every confidence score.
What is a review lane?
A confidence score decides how much checking a draft gets, never whether a person checks it. Payroll, tax documents, anything of $5,000 or more and anything below 85% confidence go to full review. Smaller, surer drafts get a faster confirm screen, but still need your tap.
How accurate is the document reading?
Every field is read at least three times and gets its own confidence. The math is checked after every reading: if the subtotal plus tax does not equal the total, the document is flagged instead of accepted. Corrections you make are stored so the same mistake is less likely next time.
What does the AI Advisor do?
You ask questions about your books in plain words, such as why fuel costs went up. Answers cite the ledger lines they come from, so you can check them.
Where is my data sent for AI processing?
See AI and your data. Before launch, that page and the service providers page will list each provider, what it receives and where it processes it.
Canadian tax, payroll and banks
Does Fynix file my GST/HST return?
Fynix prepares the GST/HST return as a draft from your books. A person reviews it and files it.
Does it handle payroll?
Yes. CPP, CPP2 and EI deductions are checked on every pay run, with reminders for T4 slips, Records of Employment and remittances.
Which banks can I connect?
Canadian bank accounts connect through Flinks, a Canadian bank-connection service. You can also import bank statements.
Can I bring my existing books?
Yes. You can import years of spreadsheet data and last year's figures from your filed return (T2125 or T2 GIFI), then check the reports before you go live.
Does it support cash and accrual accounting?
Yes. You choose when you set up your company, and every report and export follows your choice and your fiscal year.
Is Fynix available in French?
Not yet. The website and app are in English today.
Security and your data
How is my data protected?
Each company is sealed off by row-level security in the database, roles are checked on the server for every request, and the audit trail cannot be edited. The full list is on the security page.
Can I delete an entry?
Entries are reversed, not deleted. A correction is a new entry linked to the old one, so your history stays complete, as accountants and the CRA expect.
Can I get all my data out?
Yes. You will be able to export every entry and every report at any time.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal information or business data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Pricing and early access
How much will it cost?
Final prices will be published on the pricing page before launch. There will be a 14-day free trial with no card.
How do I ask for early access?
Email founder@usefynix.com with the subject "Early access". A person replies. We will not add you to any mailing list unless you agree to it first, and asking commits you to nothing.
Can my firm help test it?
Yes. Accounting firms can ask to be a pilot firm. See For accountants.
